What does the inspection cover ?

Our visual inspection covers everything that is possible to check whilst on-site at the Sellers premises, including a thorough roadtest. We appraise all areas of each vehicle systematically including engine & drivetrain, paint & panel, chassis & undercarriage, interior and all cosmetics items. A complete set of colour photographs are taken of the vehicle and our inspection report includes a FREE vehicle valuation guide. Your inspection officer will leave his name and contact number on the report for you to contact him directly with any further questions you may have.

Who performs the Inspections ?

Our inspection officers are trained professionals who perform each inspection passionately, as if buying the vehicle for themselves (we work exclusively for you). Backgrounds vary from qualified Motor Mechanics, Panel Beaters & Spray Painters and Concourse Show Judges. Each inspection officer has more than 15 years experience in the automotive industry and we pride ourselves as specialist in all Classic, Unique and Modern cars.

When and Where do you perform my Inspection ?

Generally, we complete your inspection within 24-48 hours of your call, however if a seller is not available until a later date, we will call you to notify you of any delay. The inspection officer will liase directly with the seller to arrange a suitable time to perform the inspection. Each inspection takes approximately 120 minutes to perform, and the results can be faxed, emailed or express posted immediately after completion. The inspection generally takes place at the sellers home or work premises, however we can perform an inspection just about anywhere.

Can I see a blank copy of the Report ?

The short answer is no. There are many companies who would like to obtain our unique vehicle inspection report, change a few items and call it their own. Our report is specially designed to cater to Classic, Unique, Modern cars and Motorbikes, and is displayed in an easy to understand format, whether you are mechanically minded or not. Click on ‘
Testimonials’ to review comments made by those who have used the V.I.P services.

How do I pay for the service ?

Our services are engaged on a pre-paid basis either by credit card, direct bank transfer or cheque. In the event that any of our services is not completed, you can expect a full 100% refund immediately.

Will you tell me if the car or motorbike is worth buying ?

The inspection report is designed as an ‘added’ tool to assist you in YOUR decision making process. We gather as much information as possible at the time of the inspection and check off each item systematically. We cannot however in this ‘window of opportunity’ guarantee to detect any latent issues that may arise after the completion of the inspection. This information, along with the information you have garnered from the seller and your inspection officer personally and 2nd opinions from your chosen resources will enable you to make a more informed decision whether this vehicle is WORTH CONSIDERING or to CONSIDER OTHERS. Based on our appraisal of the vehicle, we will give you an indication of the current market value of vehicles in similar condition which we source from industry publications. THE FINAL DECISION WHETHER THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE IS WORTH WHAT THE SELLER IS ASKING FOR IT, RESTS WHOLLY AND SOLELY ON YOU, THE BUYER.

What if the vehicle doesn't run ?

We can still perform a visual inspection and assess the status of the vehicle, however we cannot diagnose the condition or reason why it does not run. All vehicles that do not run, MUST have brakes and steering if being transported. They must be free of any toxic or dangerous and flammable goods stored inside, and we prefer them to be 80% complete. Please call us to discuss any special requirements you may have.

Does the inspection report represent a Roadworthy certificate or Blue Slip ?

With roadworthy laws and requirements varying dramatically from state to state, our report does not represent a roadworthy certificate. We endeavour to do our best to point out any relevant issues, however roadworthy items may also differ with interpretations from testers in each state also. We recommend that you seek further advice from your state motor registry office and/or contact your local tester to determine any requirements.

We cannot offer a quote for any repairs to meet roadworthy condition, as we are independent assessors and cannot compromise our position of loyalty to you, our customer of being fair and unbiased.

Can I speak with the inspection officer directly ?

Yes, your inspection officer will leave his name and contact number on the report for you to contact him directly. We advise that you peruse the report and photographs thoroughly and make a list of any items you would like to discuss or clarify further.

Does the seller see the report ?

No, the seller does not see the report, our services are exclusively for you. Only you can choose who you wish to see the inspection report. We guarantee to not issue any copies of the report for 3 working days after the inspection and we will generally call you if we have another request for the same vehicle within 5 days to obtain your permission. Copies of previous inspection reports are available for $150.00 inc. GST at anytime after this period.

What if the vehicle sells before I get my report ?

When we initially call the seller to arrange an inspection, we ask for them to hold the vehicle for atleast 48 hours after the inspection on your behalf. In a perfect world this is an honourable solution, however some sellers are enticed to sell the vehicle to another party and we cannot hold any responsibility for their actions. If the vehicle is sold prior to us performing our services, we will send you a full 100% refund immediately and assist you in locating another similar vehicle.

Can V.I.P verify the authenticity of a vehicle ?

We are happy to collect all the relevant information from the data tag, compliance and ID plates, along with the correct vin/chassis and engine numbers and either hand write them on our report or take a photographs. With this information, you will be able to check with the relevant authorities if this vehicle matches the data collected on site by your VIP inspection officer and the sellers claims. Please note though, that just because a vehicle has matching numbers and appears to be a genuine classic car, there is no guarantee that the vehicle hasn’t been rebodied or restamped. (This section is specifically aimed towards vehicles who’s values depend on the authenticity of the marque..e.g. Falcon GT’s, Holden Monaro’s, HDT/HSV Special Vehicles, etc, etc.)

Where are the best places to find a car ?

The very best place to find that ‘special’ vehicle is by contacting car clubs, you’ll have a wider selection of cars for sale which are owned by enthusiasts. National publications such as Just World Cars, Unique Cars, Just Bikes, Just 4x4’s, 4x4 Trader have a wide selection of vehicles available all over the country. Alternatively, websites such as Autotrader.com.au, AustralianMusclecarSales.com.au are a good place to look also. Please check out our links for a host of locations to help you find that special car. Keep in mind that no matter where your chosen vehicle is in Australia and New Zealand, VIP Automotive Solutions can inspect, appraise, buy and transport ANY CAR. ANY STATE. ANYTIME!

Can V.I.P assist in buying the vehicle at a better price ?

Absolutely YES. We have trained expert negotiators who can buy your dream car at a much better price. Our proven techniques can secure the vehicle at a much lower purchase price. Our fee is 30% of the amount we save you, against the original asking price, which ensures you the lowest price possible. Here’s an example:

1966 Ford Mustang. Original asking price is $15,000 .
We negotiate the price to $12,000, saving you $3,000.
Our fee is 30% of the $3,000 which is $900.

This proven system ensures a Win, Win situation, the more we save you, the more money we make too. The savings you gain can help you with transport, registration and other on road costs. Call us to discuss this service.

How secure is the 'Handover' payment when buying the car ?

100%. If you use our system. A bank cheque payment is made out for the balance of the vehicle in the SELLERS name. This payment is sent direct to VIP Automotive Solutions, where we will go out onsite to the vehicle and perform a final inspection, collect all documentation and complete a Bill of Sale Contract (receipt). Once we are satisfied that all is in order, only then do we handover the Bank Cheque and prepare the vehicle immediately for transport, direct to your driveway.

If the vehicle is encumbered with finance, a bank cheque will need to be made out to the Finance Company. Once again, your inspection officer will go with the seller to the finance office and pay-out the balance, whilst at all times keeping an eye on your vehicle and holding the keys. We will forward you all the paperwork along with all receipts. It sure beats giving your hard earned money to a complete stranger and never seeing the car, or receiving a vehicle that is not in the same condition as expected.

Tell me more about V.I.P Specialised Vehicle Transporting ?

Every vehicle we transport is 100% insured up to $60,000, this covers any damage claims to the body, paint and interior of each vehicle. An existing damage report is signed on the loading of the vehicle and you get to sign off on the same damage report when it arrives in your driveway. Each vehicle is carefully loaded onto our transporters which have either curtained sides or are fully enclosed. The vehicle is strapped down by the tyres (No Chains!) which is the safest way for it to travel as the vehicle rides on it’s own suspension as it would whilst you’re driving it.

Our dedicated staff will monitor your vehicle and keep you regularly updated of the progress and estimated time of arrival. Each vehicle will receive a plastic seat cover and a paper floor protection mat and in most cases, we wash your car pre-delivery.

What do I do next ?

It’s easy. Just call us on PH: 1300 852 173 or
book online.
We require your contact details, vehicle details, sellers details and your payment. Once you have engaged our services, you can sit back and we’ll take care of the rest. You will automatically receive a free transport quote whilst you are awaiting the result of your vehicle inspection.

"Thank you for the level of service VIP Automotive Solutions P/L have provided me in transporting my car from Brisbane to Perth. This took place during the last week of June 2009. The constant communication advising progress during the movement of the car was greatly appreciated, and at no time was I concerned about the likely outcome.

The price charged by VIP was very reasonable and the vehicle arrived at the nominated destination in good condition.

I have been actively endorsing VIP Automotive Solutions Pty Ltd as a viable, and in my case preferred option for the transport of vehicles, to anybody asking me how I transported by car to Perth.

Should I have the need to transport vehicles across Australia again, VIP Automotive Soltuions Pty Ltd will be my first enquiry"

"You sure know how to please a client... so wanted to let you know formally, how efficient, friendly, patient and professional (I could go on ....) you have been in dealing with our car. I am beginning to feel as though I know you personally, even though, initially we had a professional relationship.

Every step of the project has been more than satisfactory, from emails and quotes to regular text messages to keep us up to date with progress. There are many businesses who could take some lessions from you all, so we could not let your service go unrecognised and will be recommending you to all and sundry in the future"

Kindest regards - Naomi

To VIP Automotive Solutions

I would like to express my gratitude and best wishes to your company for the excellent service I received when purchasing my Holden Monaro.

Your services far exceeded my expectations with a very thorough and professional vehicle inspection report by Jim Kerr, Sydney . This report provided me the confidence in making a decision to buy this Monaro. I was also very pleased with the negotiating service you provided which saved me thousands of dollars from the asking price, along with the VIP secure handover payment transaction which gave me peace of mind.

My Monaro was transported promptly and safely to my door and it was everything I was expecting and more. Your friendly office staff, in particular Raelene kept me regularly informed of the progress of my vehicle whilst in transit.

The satisfaction with purchasing my new toy can only be attributed to the professional services VIP were able to offer. From the commencement of my dealings with your company I felt extremely complacent that the car of my dreams would be delivered to my door, trouble free.

In closing, I will be highly recommending VIP Automotive Solutions to all my friends and will definitely utilise your services again with any future purchases.

Regards,

Paul

Important:

........ How can anyone predict when a light bulb is about to blow??

VIP Automotive Solution reports do NOT guarantee the said vehicle / or part thereof for any damages, breakdowns, liability claims, latent issues, securities, complying with state laws and ADR’s (Australian Design Rules), neither does it represent any legal report or roadworthy certificate. VIP Automotive Solution reports are merely to advise you the buyer of the overall basic visual condition of the said vehicle in the window of time allotted, with an aim to giving you, to the best of our ability, a fair, unbiased and honest appraisal of the vehicle.

Where applicable, VIP inspection reports must be read in conjunction with the accompanying photographs, and we strongly recommend you contact your inspection officer directly to clarify any issues, prior to purchasing the vehicle. We also recommend you seek a qualified second opinion after you have received the report and photographs.

As all visual inspections are carried out in an ‘allotted time window of opportunity’. The vehicles status may change immediately after the VIP inspection officer has completed the service and left the premises, thus rendering the inspection report inaccurate and possibly void, as situations/circumstances may change the vehicle status dramatically.

Mechanical components are not dismantled to confirm diagnosis. Engine cam belts are not inspected, it is recommended the cam belt be serviced in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations. The condition of brake linings, pads, drums and disc rotors are not determined during the visual inspection, however the overall brake performance is assessed during the road test. Instrumentation is not checked for accuracy. Engine additives and certain body detailing may cover up faults which may not be detectable during the inspection. Some noises and faults occur intermittently and are not always evident at the time of the inspection. Oil consumption cannot be measured during the inspection.

All vehicle road tests are subject to road and legal requirements and are conducted in the vicinity of the inspection site. VIP Automotive Solutions cannot advise you of any defect that is not evident at the time of the inspection, nor predict the serviceability of any component.

In no way shall VIP Automotive Solutions, it’s parent company Pitstop Vehicle Inspections or any other associated company or it’s agents and inspection officers be held liable or responsible for any claim, regardless of the nature.

Whilst the above disclaimer is a negative component of our service, it is however necessary within the industry. You will find that all services of this nature have similar disclaimers, including authorised repair workshops. Our reputation is based on sound knowledge and experience, and our pride is measured and surpassed only by our passion for motor vehicles and satisfying your need as a VIP customer.
